2022:
Nest was found in late breeding season with three chicks in nest, these were ringed.
The male Kergu has been caught in late July, when chicks in nest almost fledged. But Kergu visited nest also after installing a tracker on his back. Kergu left for migration in Aug 12th.
Kergu stayed alone. The nest was visited from time to time by Nurme (stork with a transitter) and the camera also recorded other black storks on the nest and in its close vicinity (also a pair of storks)

MALE Kergu (ring nr 7047)
Kergu himself was ringed as a chick in 2011 by Raivo Endrekson about 9 km away from the current nest location (one of three siblings ).
He was caught and fitted with a transmitter in 2022. This was somewhat a special event because no previously ringed adult had been caught yet.
Kergu is a location name - Kergu nature protection area where the stork is from.
Kergu Nature Reserve: The area of the nature reserve is 437 ha.The protected area was founded in 2007 to protect valuable habitat types and threatened species in Metsaküla and Sohlu village (both in former Kaisma Parish) and in Viluvere village (Vändra Parish). The nest is situated in Pärnu county, SW Estonia.

We have known about this nest only last year (2022), but breeding territory since the 1990s.

3 chicks were successfully raised in the nest. They were in good condition and all fledged. The chicks were ringed, but didn't receive any transmitters.

Kergu is shortly resting, he is moving the nest material and sometimes shortly loudly singing with fanned tail feathers
