The Bosphorus Bridge (Turkish: Boğaziçi Köprüsü), known officially as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge (Turkish: 15 Temmuz Şehitler Köprüsü) and colloquially as the First Bridge (Turkish: Birinci Köprü), is the oldest and southernmost of the three suspension bridges spanning the Bosphorus strait (Turkish: Boğaziçi) in Istanbul, Turkey, thus connecting Europe and Asia (alongside the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge). The bridge extends between Ortaköy (in Europe) and Beylerbeyi (in Asia). (interesting view on this area in the past on photo there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosphorus ... 11123).jpg)

Estonian acrobat Jaan Roose took action to achieve an extraordinary first on the Bosphorus. He attempted to cross from Asia to Europe by walking on a special rope stretched across the pylons of the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge. This crossing was recorded as a great success, as no intercontinental walk had ever been made from such a high point before. Roose made history with this achievement.
