It’s always more pleasant to share good news from bird nests, but this time it's not about that. Yesterday, an unexpected guest visited a rare black stork's nest – a white-tailed eagle. And wherever this predator, sitting at the top of the food chain, appears, everything sooner or later ends the same way – with the death of other birds.
Yesterday, the eagle attacked and knocked the first stork chick out of the nest, and this morning it returned (they always return) and snatched the second chick, which was nearly two months old. The live stream will be turned off soon – the storks will not nest again this year. Let’s hope next season turns out better for this pair.
