Hello everyone
Estonia - former TIMMU's nest (a NEW MALE with Latvian rings)
Today at 6:47, the middle chick of the K. nest was still at the nest, and so far, it has not returned. The male bird also waited for 40 minutes to be certain that his duties had ended.
This chick stayed at the nest for definitely more than 100 days. It would actually be possible to calculate the exact age if we knew how old it was on the ringing date, 26.06 (with a wing length of 360 mm and weight of 2860 g). The other two chicks have already been living their own lives for at least 10 days. But it wouldn’t be surprising if this youngster still returned to the nest by evening.

Hello everyone
Nurme's companion arrived at the nest late yesterday evening and looking this mess in it. The nest was supported again because there was a risk that it would collapse in the near future. They will build it better anyway, according to their own vision.
"..... today Nurme's GPS had sent in the morning flight point in Latvia. Point taken north of Riga at 10.58. So he may still reach Estonia today. ....."

Re: BS with transmitter (Estonia, Latvia)
"We have 6 BS nests equipped with trailcams transmitting images this year. 3 of these nests have already been occupied by BS.
One of them is Nurme's nest. Nurme has been tidying up the nest with her mate for a few days now. Nurme's GPS transmitter is still not able to transmit data.
(photo previous post)
A pair arrived at a nest with an exciting history (V.) late tonight. The dead Alvar also nested in the same nest. Last year, new unknown birds successfully nested in this same nest and raised 2 young. The nest is probably one of the highest and most dangerous to climb here. So is the cam.

The Trailcam could no longer be placed on the nest named K. (Timmu & Latvian ringed bird nest) on 27.03 because one BS was already on the nest.
The third nest, where a single BS has been visiting for the last few days, is located near the Estonian-Russian border and is the only nest we have on the larch. This bird may still have a spare nest that it visits from time to time. Last year, it did not nest in this nest. M. is the name of the nest."
