the autumn birdmap starts with data from August 15
The spring/summer migration stops in mid-August and the autumn/winter migration continues from the following day, the 15th = the bird map is set for autumn/winter migration and the new distance measurement starts from 15.08. However, the birdmap is sometimes ready a week or two later.
in this thread we follow Iksi from the Pärnu County - offspring of Kergu and Kerli (we follow Iksi's 1st autumn migration)

(CY = calendar year; birds are aged as the number of calendar years they have lived in, with the year they were born in as the 1st calendar year and increasing past every January 1st.)

"Iksi left the nest at 15:13 and spent the first night in the forest near the village of Laadi. In the morning, he continued his migration southward, and by around noon, he was already in Latvia. His transmitter settings are also being updated, and it should soon start transmitting data more frequently and providing more accurate positioning. He didn’t find the nearby fish trap, but it seems that, for now, he has enough energy to continue his journey. The fish were taken to the supplementary feeding site for the Nurme brood."

Iksi has spent the last 3 days on the edge of the Lifosa AB chemical plant (Lifosa phosphogypsum mountains). He probably found something edible there and doesn't want to leave the area.

AB "Lifosa" white phosphogypsum mountains are a unique phenomenon not only in Lithuania, but also in the Baltic region. Phosphogypsum is gypsum with a small admixture of phosphates (fertilizers), which occurs during the production process of phosphoric acid. The mountains on the side of the fertilizer factory have been poured since 1968. Currently, phosphogypsum is accumulated over 21 million. tons. About 5 tons of phosphogypsum are brought to the mountains every day, so they are replenished by about two million tons a year. Currently, the mountains cover an area of about 500 hectares, some of which are 84 meters high. The previously formed mountains are now planted, covered with trees and grass. The phosphogypsum mountains are surrounded by ponds where flying cranes like to stay. The object is not visited, but the towering mountains can be seen at a distance of 60 kilometers.
Phosphogypsum - gypsum, obtained as a by-product from the exposure of phosphate to sulfuric acid (such a process is carried out in the production of chemical fertilizers).
The formula for the formation of phosphogypsum: Ca5(PO4)3X + 5H2SO4 + 2 H.2O → 3H3PO4 + 5 CaSO4 · 2 H2O + HX
