A stork will only appear on the map when it reaches an area with GSM coverage during a data session.
Please note that the birdmap may sometimes be available a week or two later than this date.

Birdmap-description:
Adult Black Stork, ringed 2018 as nestling in Latvia by Maris Strazds about 110km SW of trapping place. Caught at a migration stopover (probably) in August 24 near the Latvian border.
We do not know, where is Janis' breeding territory. At the trapping time, up to 13 Black Storks were stopping in the same area, but Janis stayed there for a surprisingly long time. Autumn migration continued in September 17.
The name was suggested by a local landowner and ranger, who participated in the release of the Black Stork that had been fit with tracker. The catch took place in a cattle pen https://www.koivakonnu.ee/en, where the cattle watched our activities. The trapping was prepared by Taavi Tatsi and Jaanus Tanilsoo.
