I still haven't received information about the fate of this stork - when and why it got to the rescue station.
(I haven't read anywhere that black storks nest there.)

It's good to know he's alive - most probably 4CY (even if he seems to have trouble with his identity).

April 13

youtube chat (Must-toonekurg::Ciconia nigra)

First black stork in Sweden this year was seen on 2nd April in an area where we suspect breeding last 3 years, but no nest found yet.

9:45 AM Paul Jönsson
Last confirmed breeding in S Sweden (Skåne) was in 1897, so we are very excited about these observations

fingers crossed!

BS + WS in ZOO with chicks
Neticams gadījums: Melnā un baltā stārķu savienība

white stork/male Heinrich + black stork/female Isis

GERMANY, Lüder (Uelzen district, Lower Saxony)
2 chick + one egg, storklets are beringt (https://www.az-online.de/uelzen/bad-bod ... 17049.html)

The story

From March 19th there was a lot of hustle and bustle on the nest. “Sometimes four storks fought about it. Heinrich was probably among the fighters," says Schulze. From April 4th Heinrich was the sole winner and was waiting for his longtime partner Ilse. But she didn't appear, instead Isis. "She kept flying in the direction of the nest, but was chased away by Heinrich," remembers Schulze.
Isis' persistence paid off. From April 14, Heinrich and she sat peacefully on the nest and brooded. Even a white stork suddenly flying in had no chance of separating the two. "First Isis shooed her away and after a while Heinrich took over the pursuit of the annoying stork," says Schulze. Now the two have become parents.

Wau, that's wonderful. They even have chicks :D . To which species will the chicks be assigned? Or a new species?
But what I'm most interested in is what happened when these different species found their way to each other, but we won't know...
