FRANCE - MAURETANIA

(GT without corrections)
Mauritania Mission 2019-2020

...
One of the goals of this mission in 2019 was to visit the wintering grounds of three black storks monitored by satellites since 2015. These wintering wetlands are located in the Senegal River basin in southern Mauritania.
The fidelity of these three birds to their wintering grounds is remarkable. A five-year follow-up is also a long time to analyze the data.
The first visit was to the faithful stork in Diawling National Park in the Senegal Delta. The group, led by a national park ranger, managed to reach the suburbs of N'Diago and observe Anthé stork nesting on the Côte d'Or (FRANCE).
The second visit took place in southern Mauritania in the cities of Bababé (Brakna) and Kaedi (Gorgol). The mission was facilitated by the local authorities and the local guide's knowledge of the places. A car, a cart, a canoe, a walk made it possible to get closer to the wetlands, which have been visited by two black storks since 2015, one nesting in France (Haute-Marne) and the other nesting in Germany (Schleswig-Holstein).

A black stork has settled in the village park of Schoonebeek since Wednesday afternoon. To the great surprise of bird experts, the special animal immediately got into a fight with another (white) stork couple.

Things are starting to get interesting with the black storks, who are starting to show anomalies in their normal behavior. Who knows what that means... :?:

Yes, I noticed that and I also read the article by Dr. M. Strazds about the loss of identity. I also have a question, why so far the cuckoos haven't lost their identity when they hatch in someone else's nest 🤔?

Look what the stork is wearing around its leg. That does not look very normal. :?

Perhaps there we see some kind of remains of a broken transmitter. And what is this green part? Looks like something has been taped on this stork's leg

I am waiting for an answer about the identity of this stork

edit:
Unfortunately, I cannot give you any information about the ringed (ELSA ring) stork.
Certainly one of these former foster storks.

I sent another email - request is on the way

I believe you can form the right opinion in this case (black stork attack - ring number) - you know what I mean
