STREET VIEWs already here viewtopic.php?p=11072#p11072

all views are from the nearby Basalt Canyon (Harod Stream - Nahal Harod): Deep and narrow canyon on the eastern part of Nahal Harod
An impressive metal bridge has been built above the stream allowing visitors to watch the steep banks of the stream from an altitude of dozens of meters. The view from the bridge includes the Gilad mountains, Issachar Heights, Belvoir Fortress and the fish farming ponds of Kibbutz Neve Eitan. (source: https://youtu.be/7hgThSWN_jY)

the newest localisation (still in flight)

- Dimona city https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimona
- Mamshit National Park https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mampsis
- Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Center https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shimon_Pe ... rch_Center
- Yeruham https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeruham

- HaMakhtesh HaGadol (Hebrew: הַמַּכְתֵּשׁ הַגָּדוֹל, lit. The Big Crater) is a makhtesh, a geological erosional landform of Israel's Negev desert. It measures 5 x 10 km. A makhtesh has steep walls of resistant rock surrounding a deep closed valley. One of five makhteshim in Israel and seven in the world, HaMakhtesh HaGadol is the second largest, being exceptional in that it is drained by one river, Nahal Hatira. Makatesh Gadol was discovered and named before Makhtesh Ramon which is the largest Makhtesh in Israel. HaMakhtesh HaGadol is near Yeruham, Israel's first development town, established in the early days of the state. The location was chosen because the region was thought to be rich in natural resources. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HaMakhtesh_HaGadol

- The Big Crater recently renamed Yeruham Crater ... (https://visitingnegev.com/har-avnon/ - interesting info and photos)

- next http://www.israelandyou.com/the-great-makhtesh/ very interesting info + short video + photo inside the crater: https://i0.wp.com/www.israelandyou.com/ ... .jpg?w=736

Waba spent the night (27./28.10) in this area near the Small Crater (viewtopic.php?p=10738#p10738) and it seems our Bonus (red circle) most probably near the Big Crater

on the way to Neve Eitan Bonus's path-line is above Umm Qais

- Umm Qais: or Qays (Arabic: أم قيس, lit. 'Mother of Qais') - a town in northern Jordan principally known for its proximity to the ruins of the ancient Gadara. ... Today, the site is divided into three main areas: the archaeological site (Gadara), the traditional village (Umm Qais), and the modern town of Umm Qais. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umm_Qais)
- Gadara: was situated in a defensible position on a ridge accessible to the east but protected by steep falls on the other three sides. It was well-watered, with access to the Ain Qais spring and cisterns. ... During the Hellenistic and Roman periods, Gadara was a centre of Greek culture in the region, considered one of its most Hellenised and enjoying special political and religious status (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadara)

very nice PANORAMATIC VIEW:
View north from Umm Qais: the Decumanus street of ancient Gadara in the foreground; the Galilean hills and the Sea of Galilee (centre-left), and the Golan Heights (right) in the background.
created: 9 April 2009 by Daniel Case: Panorama looking north from ruins of Roman city of Garada, at Umm Qais, Jordan. Prominent within this photo are the Sea of Galilee (with Tiberias, Israel, visible) and, across the valley of the Yarmouk, the southern end of the Golan Heights.
