Karula National Park (Karl II and Kaia)

18.03 It started to rain.

Kaia's bill is nicely tucked in her neck feathers- it's not very warm today..


18.15 Kaia checks on the chicks and eggs. She doesn't feed them now although the chicks crawl to the table right before she covers them.
Chicks keep twittering under Kaia and she is urged to stand up a minute later.
18.17 Kaia is up again. She keeps checking on the eggs.

18.18 FEEDING (15) Still a good pile of food is served. Both eat.

18.58 KARL
Kaia flies away.

[Madli]

18.59 They are already back at the table


Karl doesn't feed them this time and covers them.

19.01 Karl is up again, checks on the chicks and rolls the eggs, then covers them again.

19.14 #3 is talking under Karl. He stands up to roll the egg.


Still a hole in the egg..

19.19 Karl stands up to change his position.

19.38 FEEDING (16) Karl drops a large pile of fish! Some smaller fish and some pike .
#1 pecks the fish but it's not soft and he can't get anything. #2 finds a smaller fish and is able to eat it.




Neck of #2 is full.
