Online transmission from the nest of the black stork Ciconia nigra in the Notecka Forest conducted since 2018 is one of many activities carried out as part of the POIS project entitled: "Storks in the Forests. Good practices for the protection and management of the black stork population in forest areas" http://bocianimy .pl/ co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund. The project ended on December 31, 2020, but the broadcast is still carried out by the Eagle Protection Committee. This site of black storks on an oak in the Sieraków Forest District has been occupied by birds for 24 years! In January 2022, during hurricane winds, the oak with the storks' nest fell over. For almost a quarter of a century, this place provided safe and effective broods for storks, which is why members of the ECC made an artificial nest on the neighbouring healthy oak, exactly at the same height as the previous one. Because stork's nests reach large sizes and weigh up to half a ton, we used steel supports and a basket, which we filled with natural material from an old stork's nest.
in 2022 the nest was occupied and defended by at least one male from March 26 invariably until August 12, when the bird began its migration.

Duże gniazda ptaków są doskonałą kryjówką dla kun w okresie jesienno-zimowym: ciepło, miękko i w miarę sucho. Ta kuna zajęła gniazdo bocianów w Sierakowie jesienią ubiegłego roku i prawdopodobnie koczuje tu całą zimę. Jednak to się niebawem zmieni. Dorosłe bociany po powrocie z zimowisk radzą sobie doskonale z niechcianymi lokatorami używając do ich przepędzenia swoich długich i ostrych dziobów.

Large bird nests are an excellent hiding place for martens in the autumn and winter: warm, soft and relatively dry. This marten occupied the storks' nest in Sieraków last fall and probably camps here all winter. However, that will soon change. Adult storks, after returning from wintering grounds, cope perfectly with unwanted tenants by using their long and sharp beaks to drive them away.
