11:44:10 - Nutka nadal w gnieździe, odpoczywa na stojąco:
12:27:38 - znów na chwilę usiadła, ale tylko na moment.
13:02:39 - znów przyczajona, pogwizduje i siada:
13:10:21 - wstała i rozciągnęła się:
Notecka Forest - Puszcza Notecka (Notek and Nutka)
Re: Notecka Forest - Puszcza Notecka (Notek and Nutka)

Zobaczymy

Re: Notecka Forest - Puszcza Notecka (Notek and Nutka)
one friend sent to me info - about PL storks in looduskalender forum from someone with the nick onerlrlgn (I have the pic)
And it's too bad that Poland's Black Stork's nests cannot benefit from volunteers and fish baskets like here in Karula Nat'l Park! Guess in some places it's forbidden! It would have definitely helped beefing their kiddies up! So tragic for Notecka Forest to lose all their chicks. I pray that their breeding season will not be late.
As we all know chicks did not die of hunger - they were kidnapped by the hawk. (this nest in Notecka Forest)
and:
A quick question... Is it really instilled in a BS's DNA that during incubation/brooding that if one of its chicks somehow accidentally leaves the nest bowl, the adult B S does not recognize the egg/chick as its offspring? Wow! Totally 180° turn
prof. Piotr Zielinski wrote on May 17 at 23:30 (youtube chat): "... Black storks do not have imprinted in their genetic program saving of the chick outside the nesting bole. The chick that is out does not belong to them. In a typical situation, this works well, and it's enough."
(to accident on the nest in Łódź )
(and this person is asking laymens - forum members, if this is true?!)
Please, if you are a member of that forum, write them the truth there (I can't).
BS chicks from the streamed nests are all in very good shape all the time!
EDIT:
I was so sad about that post that I forgot to write: on the FB pages of several Polish forest district we saw a lot of photos from the ringing of black stork chicks. The situation in Poland seems to be good in terms of the availability of food for black storks (no one mentioned any problems).
