The older chicks are standing on the edge of the nest, looking outside. K3 is not interested in this yet.
18.30 K1 makes a nice jump.

Re: Karula National Park (Karl II and Kaia)
bill fencing is very essential in their life
prof. PZ says: "bill fencing is evidently training in the precise use of the bill" (viewtopic.php?p=6796#p6796) and " they train in this way to use the bill as a weapon and a tool for catching fish; so training for future uses" (viewtopic.php?p=6525#p6525)
edit:
years ago one zoologist/ethologist answered to me, that it is also a way for them to exchange saliva in order to identify themselves as relatives in the future

Oh thanks Marika interesting information. At times it seems like a real fight - especially when they make strange noises .

FEEDING by Karl II at 20.34 (6)
it is not easy for him regurgitating the food
who ate the big fish - edit: or frogs?
first something little https://i.postimg.cc/J4rC6bJS/2022-07-2 ... -34-23.jpg
than (maybe) frogs on the way (but I am not sure)
and Karl II flew away
