Our shy Kaia showed some true bravery today! This visit was quite unexpected, but Kaia handeled it very well. She defended her nest and Karl stood there by her side.
Well done, K&K. I hope that Kaia will be even more serious about laying the first egg very soon! We are waiting.

I do feel a little bad for the stork, but I'm sure there's a lonely stork somewhere who will accept her.

Kaia still keeps running from most mating attempts. I don't count them anymore.

05.09 Mating unsuccessful- Karl slipped off the back.
05.38 Mating (1)

05.49 Kaia flies out.

Karl is at home, arranging and spreading old nest material.

06.46 Karl flies out to start bringing new material.

07.35 Last delivery on material.

08.20 Kaia arrives with a small piece of moss in her beak.

Kaia is now busy with cleaning the home and working. As usual, she ignores Karl's approaching attempts.

Karl brings a few more twigs to the nest. A busy morning.

09.29 Mating unsuccessful- no copulation.

10.19 Karl leaves.

11.04 Kaia sees another stork. She doesn't know yet that it is just Karl. kaia seems scared again.
11.05 Karl comes to the nest, but Kaia doesn't even stand up to greet him.

11.07 Karl tries to mate with Kaia while she lays down. Hm..that didn't work..

12.03 Karl leaves to bring some nest material.
12.21 Karl leaves for a longer period (feeding)
