Samiec #Tytan po zabraniu przez ornitologów z gniazda Kinderka pojawił się w nim na długo, bo na około 3 godziny jeszcze tego samego dnia. Przez następne dwa dni już go nie zobaczyliśmy. Widok pustego gniazda sprawia, że bardzo szybko ptaki dorosłe tracą motywację do odwiedzania miejsca lęgu i następuje całkowity rozpad więzi rodzicielskich. W tym stanowisku prawdopodobnie młoda samica opuściła lęg już prawie 10 dni wcześniej, ponieważ to ona składając jaja poniosła większy wysiłek energetyczny, zwłaszcza jeśli nie znała dobrze lokalnych żerowisk. Ptaki dorosłe muszą teraz zainwestować w siebie i przygotować się do dalekiej podróży, żerując intensywnie przed odlotem. Jesienna migracja u bocianów czarnych jest bardziej rozciągnięta w czasie, niż wiosenna. Najwięcej ptaków odlatuje w pierwszej połowie sierpnia, ale zdarzają się też takie (rzadko), które są jeszcze u nas do października czy nawet początku listopada. Szczyt odlotów kończy się jednak w połowie września. W zależności od kondycji ptaków, czyli właśnie dobrego przygotowania się przed podróżą, po drodze zatrzymują się w znanych sobie miejscach postojowych od 1 do nawet 5 razy. Te najsłabsze niestety padają po drodze, co jest elementem selekcji naturalnej. Polskie bociany lecą szlakiem zachodnim lub (najczęściej) wschodnim. Dla ptaków wybierających szlak wschodni bardzo istotny jest łuk jaki tworzą dolina Cisy i Dunaju, począwszy od pogranicza ukraińsko-węgierskiego, przez Wielką Niziną Węgierską, a dalej wzdłuż Dunaju przez Serbię i pogranicze bułgarsko-rumuńskie, aż do Delty Dunaju. Nic nie wiemy o miejscu zimowania pary ptaków z Wolsztyna, ale mamy nadzieję, że w przyszłym sezonie pojawią się przy gnieździe odpowiednio wcześniej i nie narażą Internautów i ornitologów na dramatyczne konsekwencje bardzo późnego lęgu.

The male Tytan, after ornithologists took Kinderek from the nest, appeared there for a long time, for about 3 hours, on the same day. We didn't see him again for the next two days. The sight of an empty nest causes adult birds to quickly lose motivation to visit the breeding site and parental bonds completely disintegrate.
In this site, the young female probably left the brood almost 10 days earlier, because she was the one who expended more energy while laying eggs, especially if she did not know the local feeding grounds well. Adult birds must now invest in themselves and prepare for a long journey, feeding intensively before departure. The autumn migration of black storks is more extended in time than the spring migration.
Most birds fly away in the first half of August, but there are also some (rarely) that stay here until October or even the beginning of November. However, the peak departure time ends in mid-September. Depending on the birds' condition, i.e. good preparation before the journey, they stop at known stopping places from 1 to even 5 times along the way. Unfortunately, the weakest ones die along the way, which is an element of natural selection.
Polish storks fly along the western or (usually) eastern route. For birds choosing the eastern route, the arc formed by the Tisza and Danube valleys is very important, starting from the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, through the Great Hungarian Plain, and then along the Danube through Serbia and the Bulgarian-Romanian border, up to the Danube Delta. We do not know anything about the wintering place of the pair of birds from Wolsztyn, but we hope that next season they will appear at the nest early enough and will not expose Internet users and ornithologists to the dramatic consequences of very late breeding.
