In 1996 the Kößlbachtal area, covering a total of 32 hectares, was declared a nature preserve by the provincial government of Upper Austria.
The entire valley is covered with trees and only a small part belongs to the Nature Preserve. All the rest is still cultivated by its owners, the local farmers. It is a truly unique place to relax and unwind, to make endless walks or to collect berries, mushrooms and flowers. Kößlbach brook marks the border between the towns of Engelhartszell, Waldkirchen and St. Aegidi. V roce 1996 bylo vydáno Hornorakouskou zemskou vládou nařízení, kterým bylo údolí potoka Kößlbach na ploše 32 ha vyhlášeno chráněnou krajinnou oblastí.
Údolí je celé zalesněné, pouze část z toho je chráněnou krajinnou oblastí, ostatní části jsou obhospodařovány vlastníky. Tato lesní plocha je ideální k pěším vycházkám, k relaxaci a ke sběru lesních plodů, hub a květin. Potok Kößlbach je hranicí mezi obcemi Engelhartszell, Waldkirchen a St. Aegidi. V údolí potoka Malý Kößlbach najdete nejen druhově bohatý a neporušený svět zvířat a rostlin, ale také několik důležitých kulturních staveb. ((https://www.hornirakousko.cz/cz/oesterr ... lbach.html)
