A significant conservation site for raised bogs, transition mires, boreal forests and swamp forests. The bog is important for nesting birds. There are interesting stands of old-growth forests on the bog islands and in the surrounding areas.

Janis probably reached his nest today in Latvia ... It is about 20 km West from the place where he was caught and from the Estonian border. Maybe he will visit some other unknown nests and end up on this side of the border.
However, the possible Janis nesting site is 13 km from the capture site to the border. And towards Valga, 20+km to the Estonian border.
The Karula webcam nest is 31 km away from Janis' possible nest site and the M. webcam nest (young Arvo home) is 24.5 km away. So they are still neighbours.

It seems that Janis has reached the nest. Today's flights have been within a 3 km radius. And probably a new, previously unknown nesting site for Latvia.

Janis visited quite close to the M.(young Arvo home) BS nest in Estonia today.
