Obejrzałem dokładnie i w jednym przypadku na pewno zwrócił rybę głową do przodu, czyli źle ją połknął i mu nie pasowało w przełyku, ale zwrócenie ryby w towarzystwie 3 głodomorów było błędem i stracił posiłek , a w drugim przypadku na razie nie wiem, musze sobie na spokojnie obejrzeć. Obejrzałem jeszcze te zwroty. W pierwszym przypadku nie widać jak była ułożona ryba i nie wiadomo dlaczego zwrócił. Ale w drugim przypadku źle ją połknął i w sumie dobrze, że ją zwrócił.

Piotr Zieliński @lenka_zet - yes, they still saw it, and that is why they were puffing out their necks. But the hawk did not attack again. It did not want to take a risk, and clearly it did not have to. A random hawk could appear at any moment, so it is a good thing it only scared them. Of course, it is stressful for the chicks, but the excitement caused by stress often saves their lives. Stress is necessary for them, it saves their lives. Besides, stress is an essential part of wild animal life; it is actually good for them.
lenka_zet Piotr, could it have been their loud noises that attracted it? They make a lot of noise. Very talkative chicks.

Piotr Zieliński @Monka234 – absolutely, it motivates them to stay alert and use energy. But we know that prolonged stress can exhaust them – they eventually run out of energy. So I am hoping that since there is currently no hawk nest with chicks near our nest, the hawk that was there today flew further away. It will return when it is in the area again, but the chicks will be older by then. I adopted this "J" abbreviation for the hawk from our Zdzisław.

Piotr Zieliński @Monka234 – thanks, they rarely do that. I looked closely, and in one case, the chick definitely regurgitated the fish headfirst. This means he swallowed it incorrectly and it did not sit well in his gullet. But regurgitating the fish in the presence of three hungry siblings was a mistake and he lost his meal. I do not know yet about the second case; I have to watch it carefully. I also looked at the clips again. In the first case, you cannot see how the fish was positioned, and it is unclear why he regurgitated it. But in the second case, he swallowed it incorrectly, and it is a good thing he regurgitated it.
