Previous data :
- 30.09.2023, Distance: 3097 km (+ 172 km)
- TURKEY: Ata - a neighborhood in Beylikova district of Eskişehir province.

NEW data (outdated):
- 02.10.2023, Distance: 3318 km (+ 221 km)
- TURKEY: Yazıbelen - a village in Selçuklu District of Konya Province

localisation is to the west from the Yazıbelen Power Plant on the fields

it seems Karl II and Kaia flew together (maybe in one flock)


this is where their paths diverged


I received information from a friend that Karl II probably died on an el. pole (electricity power lines)

"... a few days ago (October 29) after a long time transmission came from Karl's transmitter, which showed that he had already died in the middle of Turkey (about the same area as the 2022 Karula young bird) between October 1 and 2. Since the last points (October 2) are near the electric pole, it is probably what caused the death. ... Karl's remains and transmitter have been found" ...

Dangerous electric pole, where Karl II perished in between 1st and 2nd October 2023.

Karl II breeds successfully in season 2023. There grow up three chicks of four eggs. Last is Karl II to leave for autumn migration. He doesn't know that it will be his last one. Between 1st and 2nd October Karl II lands on electric pylon for night, but got electrocuted. Turkish colleagues searched and found dead body, took away the transmitter.
