To deal with the degradation of hydrological structures, the project also aims to re-establish the ecological balance of the lakes, including improvement of the water level and its maintenance. The results of the project are linked by the designation of Mata – Radeanu Complex as Special Protected Area NATURA 2000 within The Lower Prut Floodplain Natural Park. Through the ecological restoration works at Mata – Radeanu Complex, the water level is maintained so the habitats are protected as in drought period so in the floods ones. "
