Pločica Marsh is a scenic nature oasis that hides widespread marshes in the middle of nowhere. The wide, high, and long embankment overlooking the marshes looks like tailor-made for birding. "Kraljevac”, a special nature reserve and one of only about twenty in our country, is located in Deliblato, a place in the municipality of Kovin.
The reserve, which covers just under 265 hectares, is home to several endangered plant and animal species. It consists of three spatial units: Lake "Kraljevac", the "Spasovina" pasture (locally known as "Vašarište"), and the valley of the "Obzovik" spring with the pasture of the same name.
The story of “Kraljevac” becoming what it is today began two decades ago, in late 2002 and early 2003, when the Association of Sport Fishermen "Deliblato Lake" submitted a request to the Provincial Institute for Nature Protection for the protection of this natural treasure located on the edge of the widely known Deliblato Sands.
