:o Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca)

Egyptian geese aren't true geese, they're members of the shelduck sub-family, Tadorninae. They are naturally found in Africa, in the Nile valley and south of the Sahara.
They usually nest in cavities in old trees, but will also nest under bushes on islands, or in the nests of crows or raptors. They've been recorded taking over the nests of ospreys and outcompeting barn owls to use nest boxes. The main nesting season is from February to June, but they sometimes start laying eggs in January. They're highly territorial and will fiercely defend their territory, nesting site, and young.

- 11:31:45 male Natalio starts calling, fanned tail feathers ... greetings ritual starts
- 11:32:45 Zica arrives

continuation:
- Zica is preening herself
- 11:35 and next both are preening

- 11:38:42 mating (to me not successfully) - the male does not wait for the female to take a more advantageous position in the middle of the nest (Zica was very much on the edge of the nest near the rock wall)

- 11:56:20 next attempt to mating and Zica immediately out

- 13:18:34 male Natalio is back - he is calling
- it seems like defending behaviour (he "pricks" upwards with his bill, sits for a while)
- short preening and observing the area

continuation

13:31:14 again and again
