Afterthought:

Every stork, no matter what is its fate, we must be thankful to, for allowing us to discover and learn new things about their species. I don't think that even the most experienced of us can say that they know everything about black storks. In contrary- there are still so much to discover. Storks themselves cannot tell us why do they make the choices that they make, we can only speculate what is really going on inside their heads.
Katrin, a spectacular stork with so much luck so far , Thank you for the opportunity to see the world through your eyes! You became a part of the nature's vicious circle too soon.

Hello everyone,

Katrin's body was found intact today - she had a broken (injured) wing
I am so much sorry for these young birds

Hello.

I received information from Urmas: " Turkish colleague Soner Bekir drove from Izmir and quicly found Katrin's remains. First opinion was, that there is a serious injury on one wing that prevented her from flying. Hopefully we will find a veterinarian to investigate further. At the moment this is all we know."

He also sent me 2 photos.

new data: 16.12. - 88 292 km, same area

app: 113,4 km (24h)

after long trip first to the N and than to the NE (new area) she is - maybe - flying back to the previous area (or Mare is resting already on one tree)
today path - we have all 5 localisations: L1-08.35 (it seems there is one stream, L2-10.00 (loc. to the north), new area: L3-11.35, L4-13.00 (easternmost loc.), L5-14.30 (previous area)
